Friday 13 December….. news for CERN

Last night my son in law was late coming home, not unusual, for a man who works a 14 hour day normally, but it was especially exciting as he had three things to accomplish all at 1800  and in a way of diminishing importance.. depending .

First of all there was a the all member vote of the 20 states who support Cern of admitting Israel in as the first non european nation.  They have been associate members since 1991 but now will be full voting members , which of course comes with all sorts of responsibilities including financial.

For the greatest accuracy in this report one can go to the CERN  press office  where the exact details are given and more easily understood than this poor writer can convey.

Next also, at 1800 he had to pick up 30 pounds of smoked salmon from a Norvegian colleague, this product if brought by a the cousin of another physicist.. who is a fisher man.. and it is absolutely stunningly delicious.

Then he had to also  get a snow pass….for one of the children.. all at 6.

The Physio came this morning and set me up with some harder exercises.. each time they are a little more challenging.. but I feel like I still have a long way to go.
