This is Monday morning, 11 November. The schools and the majority of France are closed for the day, whereas, Switzerland is open, they of course do not celebrate.
Yesterday besides marketing and cooking and doing homework there was much reading of TKR book.
To follow forward with the homework, I should explain that the children go to an English school once a week where they cram into them a mass of information.. mathetatics, written language and much more. But their normal school is the village French school where everything is taught in french. The school has many children for whom the first language is not french, but the teachers, all of whom seem wonderful, forge ahead teaching in french. The 3 children in this family speak, write, read fluently in both languages.. what a gift.
I was asking about the french homework, ( there is always a lot) and they went on line to show me that there is a blog, or a what we would call a detailed web site. The teacher writes on this site daily, listing the homework to be done.. what books they should bring to school.. etc. there is a page for each child and the parent has access as well as the ability to acknowledge that they had read it and supervised the home work. Before this, when I was babysitting them I had to sign off their work.. The site also covers what subjects are being covered and where the teacher is in the grand design.
wrote about the Berlin Wall subject but the other twin wrote about IVF and the first test tube baby, in 1978, since then there has been over 5 million babies born using this method.
