Tuesday morning, usually means an early start for the eldest grand child who leaves on a bus at around 0700, by 0600, of course, I am awake, no sign of anyone.. shall I climb upstairs.. shall I make a lot of noise..
Went out and walked the dog, minimally.. back in.. suddenly lots of clatter, and off out the door, just not missing the bus.. yoghurt in hand..
Younger ones off with dog.. a reason to go to school is to have the dog to show off. Mother walking them and will meet with her walking group for a more extensive ramble.
Just read some emails, distressing ones from other members of the PIA re petitions, honestly I am not up to being pushed. Those few members who are on the island have to cope with this and really it will look like a dog fight over a slim bone. I fail to really understand what is so terribly wrong with the building?
Also just read the Wheelers blog, I keep up to date with it as I am biking vicariously with them. Getting locked out of the hotel story, reminded me of a time when we were hiking in October and the hotels were closed almost everywhere except for the odd one.. and the proprietor forgot to give us a key.. we climbed in over the trellis, afterwards we both thought we were lucky not to have had the gendarmes called. Also cannot imagine climbing trellis(s) now.
I think, when you are hiking, biking, wandering, as we used to and as the Wheelers are doing, you become aware of that phrase "The Kindness of Strangers".
Do you know that Ostrich do not put their heads in the sand ( I was sharply disabused of this belief when I was in Namibia a couple of years ago), But.. for island politics I am an Ostrich.
