Sunday morning 0400. Am awake

Rain...we went to
Annecy to see the market and to visit the brocante. Which is alike a flea market.  And so we headed off into rain and more rain...we were also going to visit the city hall because on the outside of its wall they reflect a "son et Lumiere".  (Sound and light show)....but you stand outside watching inthe pouring rain. SOS guess what we did not stay.  But we were told that they use the entire building as a vehicle for the show, one thing we missed was seeing the illusion of the entire building being turned into a champagne glass and watching the champagne being poured,,
We came home to the desire for,hot food and hot drink...the rain got heavier and heavier.
We had left the dog behind, not for the first time, but the alarm was turned on,and her movements set the alarm off. The alarm company phoned...was it the dog or perhaps it was a break in?

The alarm bell is strident so we felt sorry for the dog who would have had to put up with its terrible noise
C had borrowed a car..there are now 8 of us too many for one car.....abut the demisting did not work so coming homie. The rain the pitch black, the totally fogged up car they had to keep stopping to wipe off the fogged up  windows

The one thing we did buy was wine. And a cheese called a roblochon
This cheese is  to make a tarteflette....one melts the cheese and pours it over potatoes and charcuterie
We also found a spice shop to buy mace

My nails r brittle..cld that be a result of operation stress?

home from the market with

A couple of weeks ago  C ordered what has become this families xmas dinner, which is eaten usually around 2 in the afternoon.  They do not bother with a fancy bfast which is  what we did, as we did not eat until 6 so bfast had to tide you over until then.

But today she came home with the goodies.. A Pintade ( guinea hen) boned and stuffed with A boned  Canard ( duck ) then stuffed with two boned pigeons. The bones are now in the oven roasting so that they can be boiled for a good soup stock.

There is an awful lot of food here and I am glad that Sarah is coming as James has bought masses of caviar and blini for delicious  nibbles, quails eggs and of course masses of smoked salmon.  it is going to be a feast for a long time.

The weather this morning is plus 12, so sunny and warm, I had to throw off my heavy duvet last night and open a window and change my nighty and even then was too hot.. a pleasant change.

I have not climbed on a scale for a few days but I notice that my rings are slipping around on my fingers so altho I  am back to eating more, I still have not put back on a lot of kilos.
